Flipping cards in MLB The Show 26 is the ultimate way to grow your Stub balance without spending real-world money. It’s all about taking advantage of the price differences on the Community Market. By understanding the spread between the Buy Now and Sell Now prices, you can build a Stub empire that reaches into the millions. Here’s the strategy to help you get there:

1. The Golden Rule: Use Orders, Not "Now" Prices

The first rule to flipping cards is simple: never use the "Buy Now" or "Sell Now" buttons. These are for impatient players who are willing to lose profits.

Buy Orders

Place a “Buy Order” for 1 Stub more than the current highest bid.

This lets you secure the card at a lower price and gives you time to flip it later.

Sell Orders

Once you own the card, list it for 1 Stub less than the current lowest sell price.

This ensures that your card sells quickly and doesn’t just sit in the market.

The 10% Tax

Keep in mind that SDS takes a 10% cut from every sale. So, when you're calculating profit, use this formula:

(Sell Price × 0.9) - Buy Price = Net Profit.

If the result isn’t positive, don’t flip that card. It’s not worth the hassle.

2. High-Efficiency Flipping Tactics

The goal is to balance profit per flip with transaction speed. To hit the million Stub mark, you’ll need to flip cards that sell fast while still making a decent profit.

The Silver/Gold Sweet Spot

Silver (75–79 OVR) and Gold (80–84 OVR) cards are the bread and butter for card flipping. They have a high turnover rate.

Even though you might only make 200–500 Stubs per flip, these cards sell within seconds.

Equipment & Perks

Don’t overlook equipment (bats, gloves, cleats) and Diamond perks. These cards often have a wider price spread (1,000+ Stubs profit), and many players don’t monitor them closely.

The fewer the listings, the higher your chance of flipping at a great price.

The "Quick Sell" Floor

Look for cards selling near their Quick Sell value. If a Diamond card’s Quick Sell is 3,000 and the Buy Order is 3,010, that’s a zero-risk flip.

If the card doesn’t sell, Quick Sell it for a small loss (10 Stubs). It's better than letting it sit.

3. Use the Companion App

If you want to become a Market Whale, you need to be fast. Don’t rely on just your console to flip cards. The MLB The Show Companion App is your secret weapon.

It allows you to list cards much faster than using the in-game menus.

You can flip cards while you’re on the go: whether you’re on the bus, during lunch, or even while watching a real MLB game.

Use the app’s Filters to identify Profit per Flip and Sales per Minute. This way, you can keep track of your flipping efficiency.

4. Advanced "Empire" Strategies

Once you have the basics down, it’s time to get more advanced with your market strategy.

Market Volatility (Flash Sales)

Whenever SDS drops Flash Sale packs, the market crashes temporarily. This is your chance to buy low and sell high.

During the crash, buy high-tier Diamonds at 50% off, and then sell them 48 hours later when prices recover.

Roster Updates

Every few weeks, player attributes are updated based on real-life performance.

Buy Silver players who are performing like Golds, or vice versa. This is your chance to flip cards for huge profit, turning 50,000 Stubs into 500,000 in just one afternoon.

Avoid "Locking" Cards

Don’t collect cards you intend to flip. Once a card is part of a collection, it becomes unsellable.

Always avoid locking cards into collections while building your Stub empire.

5. Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Flipping cards sounds easy, but there are a few common mistakes that could cost you big time. Here’s what to watch out for:

Undercutting too hard

Don’t drop the price by 100 Stubs to sell quickly. Instead, make it just 1 Stub less than the lowest seller. Undercutting too much hurts everyone’s profits, including yours.

Chasing the "Whales" too early

Don't dive into flipping high-ticket cards (500k Stubs or more) if you only have 600k Stubs. Market swings can wipe out your balance with just one bad flip.

Stick to cards that represent 5–10% of your total bankroll. This way, you’ll have a cushion to absorb losses without crashing your entire strategy.
