In GeoGuessr Free, the player is challenged to explore the real world as if it were a giant puzzle in which each new round takes place in a totally unknown location. There are no enemies to beat, and there are no traditional puzzles to solve; the aim of the game is to learn about the environment and guess the location.
It's pretty easy to understand how the gameplay of GeoGuessr works. The player finds himself on some real world street in panoramic map imagery, and he needs to figure out his location. He can move along the roads, rotate the camera and pay attention to all the surroundings to get any clues to identify the location.
Roads, road signs, license plates, languages, road markings, nature, architecture, mountains, utility poles – all of them can be used by the players in their quest to find the right place. Then they need to put their marker on the map and guess their location. The more accurately the guess is made, the higher score is gained.
With time the players will notice some patterns, and they will help them to make better guesses in the future. |
