In the high-stakes PvPvE world of ARC Raiders, mechanical threats fall into two categories: those you shoot, and those you delete. When Embark Studios introduced the Epic-rarity Deadline Mine, player strategies on maps like Stella Montis shifted dramatically.
Tipping the scales with a staggering 1,000 base damage and covering a massive 10-meter blast radius, this vibrant pink explosive is currently the most feared and respected utility item in a Raider’s arsenal. However, its true power lies not just in the raw stats, but in how it handles armor penetration and boss-tier threat management.
The Numbers Game: Deadline vs. Wolfpack
On paper, new players often look at the Wolfpack missile cluster and wonder why the Deadline Mine is considered the definitive "big game" killer. A single Wolfpack boast a theoretical maximum output of 1,992 damage, scattered across 12 tracking projectiles (dealing roughly 166 damage each).
Yet, in live combat scenarios against high-tier ARC units, the Wolfpack often requires a second follow-up throw to finish the job. Why does a 1,000-damage mine outperform a nearly 2,000-damage missile barage?
The secret is armor penetration and concentrated splash mechanics. While the Wolfpack spreads its smaller payloads across the external, heavily armored shell of a target, the Deadline Mine delivers a single, high-penetration shockwave. When planted correctly, the Deadline deals concentrated damage directly to the external armor and triggers internal weak points—such as core mechanisms and fuel canisters—simultaneously.
One-Shotting Capabilities in the Field
In general raiding, smaller utilities like the Jolt Mine excel at freezing PvP rushers or controling choke points. But when the ground starts shaking, the Deadline Mine becomes mandatory.

Field data confirms that a single well-placed Deadline Mine can completely one-shot massive ground threats like the Bastion, Bombardier, and the heavy-hitting Rocketeer. Normally, defeating a Bastion requires a squad to methodically break four knee joints and crack open its rear canister. A Raider equipped with a Photoelectric Cloak can simply slide past the frontline, stick a Deadline directly onto the machine's back, and walk away.
Deconstructing Boss Strategy: The 10-Minute Queen Takedown
Against the game's ultimate mechanical bosses—the Matriarch and the Queen ARC—the Deadline Mine completely alters the pacing of the encounter. Historically, a Queen fight could drag on, exhausting a squad’s ammunition reserves. With Deadlines, high-level players are soloing the Queen in under 10 minutes.
It takes exactly 7 to 10 precisely placed Deadline Mines to completely neutralize a Queen. The methodology relies on vertical mobility:
  • The Approach: Raiders use a snap hook to scale the massive mechanical boss, bypassing ground-level defense arrays.
  • The Plant: The first few mines are stuck directly to the outer plating to shatter the Queen's top armor.
  • The Core Melt: Once the inner mechanism is exposed, subsequent Deadlines are attached straight onto her glowing, vulnerable core to maximize multipliers.

High Risks and Supply Lines
The trade-off for carrying this type of firepower comes down to weight and mechanics. Weighing a hefty 1.0 kg, it takes up vital loadout capacity. Furthermore, it operates on a fixed 6-second delay timer rather than a traditional proximity trigger.
This creates a high-risk loop: you must physically get into melee range to stick it to a moving target, then immediately sprint clear of the 10-meter blast zone. If you stick a Deadline onto a fast, aggressive enemy like a Leaper—whose primary gimmick is launching itself directly at your face—the 6-second fuse will often detonate right on top of you, resulting in an instant self-kill.
Because of this brutal learning curve, demand for blueprints remains incredibly high. While you can buy them directly from Apollo (the in-game explosives merchant), high-tier squads prefer self-sustainability. To craft them regularly without relying on third-party trading sites like U4N, buy arc raiders blueprints ps5 editions by targeting specific loot runs. The most consistent drop rates are found during high-value Stella Montis night raids—specifically inside the breachable staff room in the Loading Bay, the security checkpoint, and the Assembly Workshops, where players report finding up to 5 blueprints in fewer than 15 runs.
Ultimately, the Deadline Mine is a testament to ARC Raiders' design philosophy: high risk, meticulously calculated rewards, and the raw satisfaction of watching a giant robot pop like a balloon.
