U4GM Mlb The Show 26 Am I Crazy Or This Loop Works

Been messing with Weekend Classic since the new drop hit, and ngl the 92 OVR cap is exposing a ton of bad roster building. I burned way too much stub balance testing lineups, and I've been getting mine from MLB The Show 26 stubs when I don't feel like flipping for an hour, but the bigger thing is people are jamming in shiny starters and wondering why they get farmed in the third. If you pulled Mookie from the 3rd Inning path already, he's pretty much the card holding this whole event together.

I tested the “balanced” route first. Didn't like it. In 3-inning games, your rotation barely matters unless you're trying to flex. I've had way better results starting some cheap sinker guy and going straight to Billy Wagner or Goose when the top of the order comes up. Wagner feels dumb right now. Outlier fastball at 102, nasty slider, and the 125 K/9 absolutely shows up. You can just bully lefties with him, and even righties look late if you tunnel the heater up. Most guides still tell people to spread OVR across the whole staff, but imo that's just burning cap space for no reason in this format.

I know everyone's been talking about Soriano because 2B plus outfield and the power-speed combo is cracked, but the card I hate facing is Mookie. Max contact both ways, 95 speed, 120 vision, and those hitting quirks make him feel way more forgiving than he should on Hall of Fame. I noticed my PCI with him was just fat compared to some of the older 97s, and that gap is real. If you haven't hit the 1,000,000 XP mark yet, you can feel the disadvantage. That part isn't copium either. The current meta under a cap just makes one elite bat matter more, because you're padding the rest of the lineup with golds and silvers anyway.

Look, save your easy offline stuff for Double XP. I didn't do that at first and it was such a waste. The Season 2 Recap Conquest giving 45,000 XP is nice, but the repeat value for me has been the Summer Circuit Showdown. Beating the final boss for that 5,000 XP voucher adds up fast, even if facing 99 Skenes is sweaty. And if you already have Wagner, stack the Inning Program mission with him. I got the 15 strikeouts in Events without even trying and that 10,000 XP bump moved the path way faster than Moments spam. I'm not 100% sure if SDS intended the gap between these new 99s and the earlier Season 2 cards to feel this big, but it does.

I still want clarity on whether these are Core or Set 3, because that changes everything for Ranked later. Same with the collection count for the Season 2 finale. I saw people saying 150, others saying 200, and afaik nobody has posted anything solid from the patch notes. Also haven't checked if P5 Mookie gets to true diamond defense at second, so if someone's got that confirmed, drop it. I ended up checking prices and pack talk through U4GM a couple times just to compare what stuff was doing while rewards were changing, and that helped me decide what to keep. Curious what everyone else thinks.
